Project staff and partner organisations from the EU-funded “Speak Up!” project came together on 29th October 2025 at Neer Resort and Restaurant, Gazipur, for a workshop on the Programme Accountability Framework (PAF), sharpening their understanding of how to build transparency and responsiveness into every stage of the project.
Facilitated by Md. Nurul Kabir, Programme Coordinator for PME & Fundraising, and Mykal Mondol, Project Coordinator, the workshop introduced participants to Terre des Hommes Netherlands’ accountability approach: its minimum standards, its accountability pillars, and the practical tools needed to set up effective feedback and response mechanisms.
Putting accountability into practice
Working in three groups, participants selected and designed feedback and response mechanisms tailored to the “Speak Up!” project, before presenting their approaches back to the wider group. Later sessions walked through the feedback and response management process in detail, introducing practical tools including mapping of existing mechanisms with NGO partners, feedback channel checklists, response record forms, feedback logs, and summary reporting formats.
A second group exercise, using the VIPP (Visualization in Participatory Programmes) method, asked participants to identify what kinds of project information could appropriately be shared with different stakeholders—helping clarify the boundaries of transparent, responsible communication within the project.
The day closed with participants applying what they had learned through practical group work on responding to feedback, before a final reflection session where partners shared their key takeaways.
“Integrating the Programme Accountability Framework into every stage of implementation is essential to keeping the project transparent, participatory, and responsive,” facilitators emphasised in closing remarks, with participants reaffirming their commitment to strengthening feedback and information-sharing mechanisms within their own organisations.
