Terms of Use
Welcome to the Speak Up! Project
The Speak Up! project (“we,” “our,” or “us”) was developed to create a safer, more inclusive digital environment in Bangladesh where children and young people—including girls, young women, children with disabilities, and marginalized groups—can exercise their rights, access digital safety tools, and participate meaningfully in public life.
By accessing or using our websites, interactive forums, reporting channels, or educational resources, you agree to abide by these Terms of Use.
1. Age & Parental Guidance
Our resources are designed for children, youth, educators, and organizations.
If you are under 18 years old, we encourage you to read these terms with a parent, legal guardian, or caregiver to ensure you understand your rights and responsibilities online.
2. Code of Conduct & Acceptable Use
To keep our digital community safe, inclusive, and supportive, every user agrees NOT to:
Engage in Cyberbullying or Harassment: Post, send, or share abusive, threatening, or harmful messages directed at children or young people.
Spread Misinformation or Hate Speech: Share false information or discriminatory content targeting individuals based on gender, disability, religion, ethnicity, or background.
Distribute Exploitative Content: Upload sexually explicit material or content linked to Online Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSEA).
Violate Privacy: Share personal information, contact details, or private photos of others without their explicit consent.
Disrupt Digital Infrastructure: Attempt to hack, introduce viruses, or interfere with the platform’s security or functionality.
Zero Tolerance Policy: We maintain zero tolerance for OSEA and severe online harassment. Violations will result in immediate termination of platform access and, where appropriate, referral to child protection services or legal authorities in Bangladesh.
3. Content Moderation & Reporting
Reporting Features: Users can submit reports regarding online violence, harassment, cyberbullying, or digital security concerns.
Moderation: We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove user content that violates safety rules or breaches these terms.
Good-Faith Reporting: Reporting channels must be used in good faith; false or malicious reporting is strictly prohibited.
4. Intellectual Property & Educational Use
Open Educational Access: All educational toolkits, guides, infographics, and awareness materials published by the project may be freely downloaded, printed, and shared for non-commercial educational, training, and community advocacy purposes.
Non-Commercial Restriction: Project content may not be sold, modified, or commercially exploited without written permission from the Speak Up! Secretariat.
5. Third-Party Links & Resources
Our platform may provide links to external emergency helplines, support networks, or organizational partners. These links are provided for informational and assistance purposes only, and we do not assume responsibility for third-party content or privacy practices.
6. Limitation of Liability
Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. While we make every effort to maintain safe and reliable digital spaces, the Speak Up! project is not liable for temporary service disruptions or unauthorized third-party actions beyond our reasonable control.
7. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed under the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
