Youth Action for Social Development (YASD), a youth-led CSO based in Mirpur, Dhaka, is a member of the National CSO Network formed under “Speak Up!”. After receiving training on preventing online sexual exploitation and abuse, YASD didn’t just absorb the lessons — they amplified them.
The organisation launched a series of social media awareness campaigns with simple, practical messages on protecting personal information, avoiding cyberbullying, and recognising and reporting online risks. The campaigns spread well beyond YASD’s own audience, as viewers shared the posts further into their own networks — reaching children, parents, teachers, and community members alike.
“The training and support from the project have helped us spread important messages on safe internet use,” said Mr. Rokon of YASD. “Through our online campaigns, we want to ensure that children and young people can use the internet safely and confidently.”
It’s proof that when local organisations are equipped with the right tools, the ripple effect can reach far beyond a single training room.
